Last week, a student-run charity, Vision Rescue Foundation, fundraised at West Vancouver Community Centre again. This registered charity is founded by Mulgrave Students. Vision Rescue helps children who have vision problems in rural areas around the world. This year, with the support from Sentinel students as well as Chinese volunteers, we have been able to help children in Quanmen Elementary in Henan Province of China.

From January, Vision Rescue has received support from over 100 individuals and gathered more than 1000 dollars just from these “rescuers”. This has greatly surpassed their initial goal. With the extra support from one of the biggest eye-product companies, Haoshili, Vision Rescue is able to help more than 50 children in Quanmen with proper treatments that could potentially prevent permanent blindness. Today, Vision Rescue Canada is transferring all the funds to Vision Rescue China for them to arrange the proper treatments for those children in June.

Additionally, congratulate our Mulgrave students Sam Ye, Elaine He, Chloe Costa, Jingyi Mao, and Kiara Liu for winning the VRF’s Awards!

You can still make your donations here.
